Hello there! I'm Tim. I'm a driven introvert that delights in creating things from scratch, whether with code or real materials.

My first encounter with programming was in college, when I had to build scripts for problem solving as part of my education. I found I liked programming during my final year, but I was about to graduate and didn't have the money to continue my education. So I finished my degree and continued to program as a pastime while working as a professional mechanical design engineer for a product engineering business.

During the Covid epidemic, I found myself wishing I could be doing something I was interested in. So, after 8 years of working as a professional mechanical design engineer in the product engineering industry, I realized I wanted to do something more with my interest in technology and working with computers. So, in early 2022, I made a career change and completed Fullstack Academy's 12-week intensive Web Development Bootcamp program, which was sponsored online by my institution.

In my spare time, I enjoy watching tv shows, movies, and video games with a science fiction-based world-building aspect. My interests in these media types have carried over to my career in software development, as I have a particular interest in front-end and back-end engineering.

Galactic Pawn

Galactic Pawn is a project I built alongside Aaron Heiy , Taylor Kirkes , and Jacob Warren for a capstone project. We were instructed to create an e-commerce shop web application from scratch. We decided to create an e-commerce application for a fictional pawn shop at the end of the galaxy. This allow us to be creative with the items in the database system. This e-commerce application required a lot of heavy lifting to create a universal cart and overall shopping experience as well as introduce the products and include an admin page.

Smart Brain: Face-Recognition app

Introducing Smart Brain, a full-stack project that uses machine-learning to detect faces within any image. Built with React, NodeJS, PostgreSQL and utilizing Heroku, Render, Netlify and the Clarifai REST API, this project allows users to upload an image URL and instantly see the faces within the image. The project was created as a way to showcase my skills in web development and full-stack technologies and in the future, I plan to add more features such as cypress testing, storybook, redux, redis, JWT, and docker, also I plan to convert the project to typescript and make it a PWA.

Introducing CRWN Clothing, a full-stack e-commerce website that is built with React, NodeJS, Stripe, and Firebase/Firestore. The goal of this project was to create a boilerplate for future similar work and showcase payment integration on future company websites. This website is designed to handle secure payments, routes, noSQL databases, and 0Auth integration with ease. It is fully customizable and can be easily integrated with other platforms. In the future, I plan to add cypress testing, storybook, redux, redis, JWT, and docker. I also plan to change it to typescript, making it even more robust. Additionally, I plan to set it up as a PWA, making it accessible from any device. This website is designed to handle large amounts of traffic, making it perfect for businesses of all sizes.
